What is FIE?
Feuerstein, an Israeli psychologist and educator, developed the Instrumental Enrichment Program (IEP) in the 1950s. The main goal of IEP is to stimulate the development of cognitive skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and logical reasoning, in people of all ages. The program is based on the belief that intelligence is not fixed and can be improved throughout life, and that all people have the capacity to learn and grow. IEP consists of a structured sequence of activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development. Each level of the program is designed to challenge participants' cognitive abilities, with activities involving games, puzzles, and other tasks to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. IEP is used in many countries around the world to assist people with learning disabilities, such as children with intellectual disabilities, adults with brain injuries, and the elderly who want to keep their cognitive skills sharp.
